Elvis Pizza Sandwich

The king of all sandos - the 'Elvis Presley'. Elvis had a thing for peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwiches. Give it a go.

Ingredients

Makes
1 large sandwich
  • 6 rashers of streaky bacon
  • A drizzle of olive oil
  • 4tbsp smooth peanut butter
  • 550ml double/heavy cream
  • 2tbsp vanilla extract
  • 250g pizza dough
  • Sprinkle of flour
  • 1 banana, sliced in thick chunks
  • A drizzle of hot honey

Step 1

Preheat your Gozney oven to 800°F / 420°C (stone floor temperature). Place a cast iron skillet or pan into the oven to heat. Once hot add a drizzle of olive oil to the pan followed by the bacon. Place into the oven and allow to cook for 5-8 minutes until crispy. Set aside to cool.

Step 2

In a large bowl spoon in the smooth peanut butter and slowly, using a spatula stir in the double / heavy cream and the vanilla extract until both are incorporated.

Step 3

Lightly dust the surface with flour and stretch the dough slightly larger than your hand. Drizzle with olive oil and fold in half. Place into the oven and bake for 3-5 minutes until the dough is cooked through, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking.

Step 4

Carefully unfold the dough, spread the peanut butter mix onto half of the dough. Top with the bacon, banana and a drizzle of hot honey. Fold the dough back over and slice.
