Marc Schechter

Born and raised in New York (Long Island), Marc's pizza obsession began early. From college in Miami to adulthood in Queens, Brooklyn, and Seattle, he hunted for the best pizza joints. Transitioning from software sales, he turned his pizza passion into a culinary pursuit, launching the @Pizzaman_420 pop-up using his Roccbox oven.

His focus shifted to Square Pies, leading him to create the Square Pie Guys pop-up in 2018. By 2019, it became his full-time career. Now, with three restaurants and seven ghost kitchens across the San Francisco Bay Area, pizza is his life. Outside the pizza realm, Marc enjoys stand-up comedy, podcasts, Formula One, and enduring the ups and downs of his beloved (yet often disappointing) NY sports teams. Oakland is home, where he lives with his partner Tess and his cat Reuben.
